About Our Custom Numbers

We'll guide you through the process of creating numbers when you click design now. Each state has specific verbiage as to their requirements. The general requirements for boat hull identification numbers are as follows:

  • A minimum of 3" letter height
  • A block style font such as (impact or arial black)
  • Generally located on the forward hull portion of the boat next to the DNR tag
  • A contrasting color to base color of your boat.
  • Letters separated by a space or a dash (-)

How does my lettering arrive?

Your lettering is cut, weeded, and coated in a transfer tape ready to install. Installation instructions are included. We have many optional installation accessories located in our accessories section.

About our vinyl

We use a variety of vinyl types depending on the colors you order. Solid colors are produced with a standard 6 year vinyl (which will often last longer). Specialty colors can vary greatly depending on the specific color. Chrome for instance will typically last a shorter amount of time than carbon fiber. Any gradients or bevel effects must be digitally printed, this vinyl is printed and laminated and carries a similar 6 year outdoor life rating.

Quality product and a fast turnaround. I am a returning customer and recommend them. I ordered registration numbers for my last boat and after eight years there was no fading or peeling.

They arrived in a couple of days and look great on my Duck Hunting boat. Easy install , Well worth the money. Or you can drive to Home Depot. Save ten bucks and buy generic letters that peel off in two years... Good luck trying to make those look nice and even.
